In order to learn about wood frame construction our first project of the semester is to create the construction drawings for theSHED and construct it within two weeks. The image to the left is the original drawing we were provided. We have made some changes to the deisgn such as adding an ADA ramp, bench for sitting and a swing. We wanted to keep the sense of a southern front porch with the design and look of the building. Within this small piece we are able to incorporate many different wood frame construction techniques; a hipped roof, a shed roof, floor platform, ADA ramp, 3'-0" doorway, 6'-0" doorway, a window and heavy timber supports.
